जब स्वामी विवेकानंद अपने गुरु परमहंस श्री रामकृष्ण देव से मिले तो उनके कहने पर विवेकानंद ने एक भजन गाया -रे मन अब चल निजनिकेतन। अर्थात रे मन, बाह्य विषयों में तू बहुत भटक लिया। अब उन विषयों में रस ढूँढने, रमने के बजाय ब्रम्हानंद, परमानंद की प्राप्ति हेतु स्वलोक, आत्मलोक में चल। परम निश्छल, परम पावन, परम निर्दोष स्वामी विवेकानंद ने जब अपनी अंतरात्मा से यह भजन गया तो परमहंस श्री रामकृष्ण देव इसे सुनते ही परम समाधि में चले गए। समाधि अर्थात मन की निर्विचार स्थिति, जिसमें जीवात्मा, परम पुरुष परमात्मा का साक्षात्कार करता है। पवित्रता, निश्छलता आते ही मुक्ति, समाधि आदि व्यक्ति का सहज स्वभाव बन जाते हैं। जीवन के इस परम लक्ष्य की प्राप्ति हेतु कहीं वन-वन भटकने की आवश्यकता नहीं; क्योंकि यह तो वनकंदराओं की नहीं, अपने अंतर्जगत की यात्रा है। जैसा कि ईसामसीह ने कहा है - 'स्वर्ग का साम्राज्य तुम्हारे अंदर ही है।'
When Swami Vivekananda met his guru Paramhansa Sri Ramakrishna Dev, at his behest, Vivekananda sang a hymn - Re Mana Ab Chal Nijaniketan. That is, my mind, you have wandered a lot in external matters. Now, instead of finding rasa in those subjects, go to Self-Loka, Self-Loka to attain Brahmanand, Bliss. When the Most Pure, His Holiness, the Most Innocent Swami Vivekananda recited this hymn from his conscience, Paramahansa Sri Ramakrishna Deva went to the supreme samadhi on hearing it. Samadhi means the thoughtless state of mind in which the soul, the Supreme Person, realizes the Supreme Soul. With the arrival of purity, sincerity, liberation, samadhi etc. become the innate nature of a person. To achieve this ultimate goal of life, there is no need to wander from forest to forest; Because this is not the journey of the Vankandras, it is a journey within oneself. As Jesus said - 'The kingdom of heaven is within you.'
